LIONS CLUB - SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Purpose and Objective of the Program The purpose of the Program is to offer scholarships to graduates of Wimberley High School and the Katherine Anne Porter School. This is a scholarship program. Therefore, financial aide is not an element of the selection criteria. Please see the selection criteria outlined below. Academic Scholarship Program Four-year scholarships, in the amount of $750 per semester, renewable for eight (8) semesters (total value of the scholarship is $6000), at Colleges and Universities for students pursuing a conventional college education. Students must enroll in a minimum of 12 hours each semester and maintain a 3.0 grade point average. The number of new recipients each year is 8, depending on funds availability. Technical Scholarship Program Two-year scholarships, in the amount of $750 per semester, renewable for four (4) semesters (total value of the scholarship is $3,000), are offered to students pursuing an accredited program at a two year college or technical school. Students must enroll in a minimum of 12 hours each semester and maintain a 3.0 grade point average. The number of new recipients each year is 2. Submission of applications The deadline for submission of applications for academic and technical scholarships is April 9, 2010. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
